Medical Conditions

Since the MINISCO Center of Orthopedics opened in 2016, all surgical procedures and any procedures requiring anesthesia have been performed exclusively in a licensed major hospital or private clinic, and never on our practice premises.

Shoulder

The unique anatomy of the shoulder enables the greatest range of motion of any other joint in the human body.

Ankle

It consists of three parts and is widely, though incorrectly, known as the “astragalus” (talus).

Foot

The foot contains a total of 28 bones and can be subdivided into the hindfoot, the midfoot and the forefoot.

Knee

In the human body, the knee is the major joint that undergoes heavy stress since it acts as a shock absorber.

Wrist Joint

The wrist joint or radiocarpal joint is the most complex joint in the human body, thanks to the large number of bones.

Fractures

When a strong external force is applied to the bones of the human body, it can break the continuity of a bone.

Hip

The hip bone’s primary function is to support the weight of the body and enable walking. Similar to the shoulder, the hip is a mobile joint.

Hand

The most accurate term given to the human hand is ‘‘an exquisitely intricate tool’’ since it enables difficult and precise movements.

Elbow

The bones that constitute the elbow joint are the humerus, radius and ulna, with the humerus positioned in the center of the structure.

History of MINISCO

2015

MINISCO Orthopedic Center of Athens is being founded. Halandri is the location to start with.

2016

Start of our collaboration with Metropolitan Hospital, Faliro.

2017

Start of our collaboration with Metropolitan General and move to the well-known glass building at 1 Kifisias Avenue, Sidera, Chalandri.

2018

The MINISCO team of doctors grows, with 2 more specialized orthopedic surgeons joining. 2 more secretaries are hired to serve our patients better.

2020

MINISCO Orthopedic Center is established as one of few in Greece with Robotic accreditation in both robotic arm systems, which are commercially available in Greece.

I am 28 years old. I had an accident while playing professionally football. Everything seemed to be pointing at anterior cruciate ligament rupture. Dr. Intzoglou examined me and requested immediately an MRI. My MRI revealed that my greatest fear has come alive. We immediately scheduled my surgery in order for me to be able to come back in the field as quickly as possible. I followed the doctor’s physios and trainers in order to safely get back in the game! 8 months after my arthroscopy I played officially again and above all I was even stronger. The next year I managed to be the top scorer of my devision (2nd Greek Division).

I am 38 years old. I had an accident playing with my dog. I have had terrible knee pain for at least 6 months. I could not bend my knee, climb stairs and while driving it "stuck". I had visited two other orthopedic surgeons, but they confused me. They introduced me to Mr. Intzoglou. He immediately found what I have (meniscus tear), we arranged the surgery and I came back immediately. I had no pain or “catching” anymore and I started walking and running almost a month later. He is an excellent scientist.

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart Dr. Intzoglou and his incredible team. My mother, 74 yo, could barely walk even with a cane. She couldn’t get up from the bed without any help from my dad. Her problem was diagnosed and was severe Hip Osteoarthritis. Dr. Intzoglou informed us and explained hip plan in details. SuperPATH was the way to go and it was the best decision we ever made for my mum. She is now independent, she uses no cane from the 2nd month and feels no pain from day one!

A simple thank you would not be enough. After chronic pains in my leg, which gradually led me to not be able to take a single step alone and while I had visited several doctors, I learned about Dr. Intzoglou. He suggested robotic knee arthroplasty and assured me of its effectiveness. Whatever he told me, I now live it! My son bought me a watch that counts steps. Every day I do at least 13000 steps! God bless Dr Intzoglou and his associates !

I am a personal trainer. For months I had intense discomfort in my shoulder and tried to deal with it with physiotherapy. Eventually, I got to the point where I could not raise my hand. My physiotherapist recommended Dr. Intzoglou who diagnosed me with a ruptured supraspinatus tendon and suggested shoulder arthroscopy, assuring me of the immediate recovery and return to my work. So it happened! One and a half a month later I am back. He and his team were always by my side. Thank you all dearly!

I am a truck driver and suddenly I started having pain in my right arm and shoulder. A friend recommended me to Mr. Intzoglou. The doctor found on the first visit that I had sustained in the past a shoulder dislocation and I had instability. No physician ever told me I needed an MRI, except Dr. Intzoglou. My shoulder MRI revealed that I needed arthroscopy in order to return to driving which is my job. Immediately after the arthroscopy the pain stopped and the recovery was immediate! 2 months later I am back on my schedule!
