Emergency Cases
The three bones that constitute the elbow joint are the humerus, radius and ulna, with the humerus positioned in the center of the anatomical structure. Strong ligaments connect the three bones together, allow the joint to function properly and the hand to be able to rotate towards any direction. Three major nerves of the upper extremity that also come together at the elbow joint, are the radial, ulnar and medial nerves. Overexertion of the elbow joint is the most common cause of joint paint, whereas elbow fractures and dislocations are common injuries amongst individuals who participate in sports, as well as children.
