The wrist joint or radiocarpal joint is the most complex joint in the human body, thanks to the large number of bones that form its skeletal segment, as well as the long series of smaller joints that are found between these bones. Arranged in two rows, there are eight bones that form the wrist joint: the proximal parts are connected to the bones of the forearm, the radius and ulna, whereas the distal parts come into contact with the metacarpal bones and reach the phalanges of the hand.
The complex anatomical structure of the radiocarpal joint, gives the hand its unique flexibility and functionality by means of a network of ligaments and muscles.
