On 23/04/2017, during a football match, I was injured and diagnosed with a total anterior cruciate ligament tear and a torn meniscus. At the time, I was going through a health issue that no athlete ever wants to experience, and I was left heartbroken. My only priority was to undergo the appropriate surgical procedure in order to recover. My instinct, as well as good reviews by other patients, drove me towards choosing the most capable doctor for my injuries, Konstantinos Intzoglou. At first, he described to me in full detail my condition, the duration of my postoperative recovery and the rehabilitation process. He was very straightforward, and while describing in full detail a rather painful process, he was very sympathetic. His heartwarming encouragements are the reason I was able to overcome my fears. The surgical procedure took place on the 2nd of May and thankfully, it had a positive outcome. Postoperatively, all I needed to do was to closely follow the doctor’s instructions which included daily exercises, a compression sock, a sling, crutches and application of ice. After 2 weeks, and once the stitches were removed, I started following the recommended physiotherapy sessions. As indicated by the doctor, I am getting better every single day and I am currently on the 39th day of postoperative recovery. I feel like I am getting stronger by the day. I am now able to walk without assistance or crutches. I am currently following intense physiotherapy sessions and I walk in the sea when I am at beach, in order to strengthen my muscles. I will never forget the day of my injury since it was one of the worst days of my life. Nevertheless, while I was very unlucky to get injured, I consider myself to be very lucky to have had as my orthopedic surgeon such a brilliant doctor, as well as an incredible individual. I would like to express my gratitude towards orthopedic surgeon Konstantinos Intzoglou. During the month of June 2015, I was suffering from excruciating knee pain. I chose to trust Konstantinos Intzoglou after friends and colleagues recommended him as the befitting doctor. I underwent a three-hour surgical procedure in the orthopedic inpatient care at the General Hospital KAT. I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and cartilage damage of the knee. I was discharged from the Hospital 12 hours postoperatively. In a period of one month, I was able to return back to work regardless of the fact that my occupation requires long hours of standing and walking. I was able to walk rather well without feeling pain and without experiencing any other issues. I am glad I have the opportunity to convey how thankful I am for having been treated by Konstantinos Intzoglou.
On 4/11/2016, I sustained an injury in the area near my ankle. After the completion of the necessary medical examinations, I was diagnosed with a fracture of the lateral malleolus. After further examination, as well as X-rays, I was diagnosed with partial tear of certain ligaments of the ankle. On the 4th of November, the same day of my injury and right after the initial medical examination, the on-duty doctors at the public hospital, performed a lower leg reduction, and a rough binding with the use of a cast. Right before I was discharged from the hospital, the possibility of undergoing surgery was discussed as the necessary solution, and the doctors prescribed painkillers. The doctors seemed to be reluctant about approving the surgery but kept saying how my injury was a serious injury. Their reaction made my family and I, want to seek a second opinion on the matter. Almost six days after I was injured, my family and I, met doctor Konstantinos Intzoglou at the Metropolitan Hospital in Piraeus. After new X-rays were taken, the doctor was certain that a surgical procedure would reduce the duration of the necessary rehabilitation period, as well as restore the leg back to its full functionality and minimize any risks. Subsequently, any difficulty while walking or standing that could occur after a short period of time, or in the long run, would be avoided. The very next morning, after completing the necessary medical examinations, I underwent surgery. I was put under total anesthesia, and postoperatively, I remained in the hospital under frequent supervision by the doctor until the afternoon of the same day (!) when I was discharged, and I was able to return home. The doctor prescribed new painkillers, as well as anticoagulant injections. Concerning the surgery, the doctor used titanium screws and blades on the inside of my lower leg which leave no visible marks. The rehabilitation period went by very smoothly. In less than 20 days, the cast was removed and replaced by the doctor’s instructions, with a special medical brace that supports the lower leg. On New Year’s Eve, 6 and a half weeks after my surgery, I was able to walk without using my medical brace or crutches. By the doctor’s recommendation, I started following physiotherapy sessions at a physiotherapy center near my house and by the 10th session, I was able to start working out again. During this period, I regularly contacted Mr. Intzoglou in order to be informed about any necessary changes concerning my medication, gauzes, as well the healing process and full recovery. It has only been 8 months after I was injured, and the memory already seems distant. I experienced no complications after my surgery, which was a highly successful procedure, and the results were seen faster than we ever anticipated. Communicating and cooperating with my doctor was very easy, and the whole process went by effortlessly. I am personally completely satisfied with the results of my recovery.
In September 2014, during a five-a-side weekend match, I was unlucky enough to experience firsthand how it feels to sustain one of the most severe and common injuries amongst athletes, a cruciate ligament tear. On the 2nd of December 2014, I underwent surgery at the Attica General Hospital KAT and my surgeon was Mr. Intzoglou. During the period after I sustained my injury and before the surgical procedure, all necessary medical examinations were made by the doctor’s instructions. I feel the need to mention the instance when I asked the doctor if my leg was going to fully recover, and his answer reassured me and made me feel I was in capable hands. Along these lines, I was convinced that I had to strictly follow my doctor’s instructions-advice. His precise answer was ‘‘If you follow my guidance, you will soon be able to play football again’’. During the rehabilitation stage, as well as before my surgery, all my doubts were cleared with the help of Mr. Intzoglou who was the one to explain to me the purpose of each exercise and how it can help my knee recover. Postoperatively, I had to be medically examined on the 1st, 3rd, 6th and 9th month of recovery, and after one whole year. I had the pleasure of working with orthopedic surgeon Mr. Konstantinos Intzoglou during the game season of 2012-2013, when he was the medical assistant of the Apollon Smyrni F.C. basketball team, which was under my jurisdiction. I was given the opportunity to appreciate in person the very intimate approach Konstantinos Intzoglou follows as a doctor, as well as his scientific adequacy in the ways he treats all types of injuries that the team players would sometimes sustain. On the 4th of December 2016, during the second day of the Greek National Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship, my expectations were running high and I was hoping I would win a metal in this year’s championship. During the semi-finals, I sustained an injury to the arm while performing an Armbar. At first, the pain was tolerable but as time went on, the pain grew stronger by the minute. My coach and colleagues advised me to go see the doctor that was assisting in the event. Without a second thought, I chose to follow my instinct and call Mr. Intzoglou, since he was the only doctor that would sincerely tell me the exact extend of my injury, without the possibility of misdiagnosing me. I was immediately invited to his medical clinic, which is situated in Chalandri, Athens. The news hit me hard. The doctor diagnosed me with a total pectoralis major tendon rupture on the left shoulder and informed me that I must undergo shoulder surgery!!! I was overcome by fear and I panicked, since I had never had surgery before. The good news were that I fully trusted Mr. Intzoglou and that gave me strength. During our three-year collaboration as part of the Ilisiakos football team, I was able to recognize his unique attributes as a doctor and as an individual. He is the doctor who has treated many athletes of the Ilisiakos F.C. that were badly injured, and many of which sustained injuries which were much more severe than mine. The surgery was scheduled for the 19th of December, at the Metropolitan Hospital. The medical staff were all very helpful which made me less anxious, since it was the first time that I was having surgery, and the procedure, which lasted almost two hours, went very well! I was able to return home the very same day!! By following the instructions of my doctor Mr. Intzoglou during my rehabilitation period, I was able to start training again after four months. Additionally, I was also able to practice fighting techniques with my friends! Mr. Konstantinos Intzoglou, I will forever be grateful to you for being able to treat my shoulder, as well as restore and actually improve its functionality. I also want to thank you for making it possible for me to continue doing something I absolutely love! I will see you soon, during the next year championship, with a medal hanging around my neck!

On the 19th of August 2015, during a friendly pre-game match, I was injured and diagnosed with a fibula fracture and a fracture of the lateral malleolus. As a medical assistant and a former co-player at the Ilisiakos F.C., Mr. Konstantinos Intzoglou, the very moment he was informed about the severity of my injury and the necessity of a surgical procedure, (and after the doctors of the insurance company and the hospital that work with the team mentioned that the initial clinical examination would take place after two days), LEFT the place where he and his family were having their summer holidays, and hurried back to Athens the very same night. In the early hours, he came in my hospital room and made arrangements, in order for me to undergo surgery the very same day. The surgery was highly successful. For the next few months, every doctor or physiotherapist that would examine my recovered leg, would talk about the impressive results and the accuracy of my surgeon. Only 3 months postoperatively, I had already started training again.
